Open Role: Bookkeeping Manager

Gutsy Money is seeking a Bookkeeping Manager to oversee our talented team of remote Junior Bookkeepers. This role is remote and part-time.

Do you have 5+ years as a strong and proven bookkeeper working remotely? Do you have a desire to lead and mentor a team of Junior Bookkeepers? Are you experienced with small business accounting and financial processes? Then this is the role for you!

This Bookkeeping Manager role is part-time and remote making it the perfect job for an experienced freelance bookkeeper looking to take on more work or a full-time employee seeking extra income.

About Your Direct Reports:

Our Junior Bookkeepers are smart, hungry, and enthusiastic about becoming effective full charge bookkeepers. Through real-world experience combined with your brilliant accountability and leadership plus our proprietary training, they will quickly become experts.

Bookkeeping Manager Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Expert

Review clients’ books for accuracy and completion by junior bookkeepers, ensuring discrepancies are swiftly addressed and everything balances.

Leader and Mentor

Guide and train a team of junior bookkeepers, ensuring their work is accurate, timely, and in line with best practices. Manage the workload and capacity of your bookkeeping team.

Client Champion

Troubleshoot and respond to any client inquiries that the Junior Bookkeeper cannot handle.

Report Wrangler

Review financial reports with Junior Bookkeepers; teaching juniors how to interpret the reports and communicate important information to clients.

Process Pro

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the bookkeeping function and team.

Document Guru

Document processes for easy knowledge transfer between teammates.

Team Player

Willing to perform the work of a Junior Bookkeeper when the Junior Bookkeeper is unable to perform tasks due to sickness, vacation, or time shortages. Thought partner with Senior Bookkeepers on any complex items.

Gold Medal Contributor

Work closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide financial clarity and drive informed decision-making. Assist with projects that increase the efficiency and productivity of Gutsy Money.

You have 5+ years of experience as a remote bookkeeper and Quickbooks Online expert under your belt, with a deep understanding of accounting principles.

You have a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in our clients’ books and all aspects of your work.

Tech-Savvy

You’re an expert accounting software user with the ability to adapt to new tools. Proficient in communication platforms (Loom, Gmail, Google Meet, Slack) or able to learn quickly.

Strong Communicator

You can convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance team members.

Smooth Task Switcher

You have an ability to multi-task across clients, brainstorm and implement solutions for new procedures, and “put out fires” while meeting deadlines.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

The starting pay range is $35-$45 per hour DOE, includes a flexible schedule, and a fantastic company culture that celebrates your contributions.
