Open Role: Senior Bookkeeper

Gutsy Money is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to provide excellent bookkeeping services to small business owners across the U.S. This is a contract, remote, and part-time role.

The Senior Bookkeeper role is part-time and remote. It’s the perfect job for an experienced freelance bookkeeper looking to take on more work.

Senior Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Expert

Take the reins on all bookkeeping activities, from general ledger management to overseeing daily financial transactions. Set up, clean up, or maintain clients’ books with accuracy and attention to detail. Ensure discrepancies are swiftly addressed and everything balances.

Undefeated Set-Up/Clean-Up Master

Nobody creates a better accounting system for our clients than you! Set up new business, clean up business books that have been ignored or mangled, and create pristine systems that clearly capture the whole financial picture!

Reconciliation Rock Star

Oversee the reconciliation of accounts, ensuring everything balances and discrepancies are swiftly addressed.

Client Champion

Troubleshoot and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner. Seek ways to support the efficiency, compliance, and stupendous success of each client in your care.

Report Wrangler

Prepare and review detailed financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to clients, and/or teach clients how to interpret information on their financial reports.

Process Pro

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the bookkeeping function.

Compliance Master

Ensure all financial practices comply with legal standards and company policies, keeping Gutsy Money and our clients on the right side of the law.

Team Player

Jump in to support teammates when they are unavailable to perform tasks. Communicate proactively regarding how the leadership team can support you.

Gold Medal Contributor

Work closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide financial clarity and drive informed decision-making. Assist with projects that increase the efficiency and productivity of Gutsy Money.

You have 10+ years of experience as a bookkeeper for small businesses and are a Quickbooks Online expert with a deep understanding of accounting principles.

You’re an expert Quickbooks user with the ability to adapt to new tools. Proficient in communication & project management platforms (Financial Cents, Gmail, Google Meet, Slack) or able to learn quickly.

Strong Communicator

You can convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance team members.

To Do Tackler

You’re strong organizational skills with the ability to schedule and accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner. You have an ability to multi-task across clients, brainstorm and implement solutions for new procedures, and “put out fires” while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

10+ years’ direct experience in Bookkeeping
Previous experience in small business or entrepreneurial accounting is required
Knowledge of Financial Statements and ability to analyze and interpret financial data
Expertise in using Accounting Software and advanced understanding of finance processes
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining organized financial records
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support clients with strategic financial advice
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with excellent time management

Compensation, Perks & Benefits
